India Biotech has applied to the Comptroller General of Drugs for permission to start the third phase of the trial. DCGI has already asked for data on the second phase of the trial. The third and final trial will feature 26,500 volunteers over the age of 18. Volunteers will be recruited from 19 places in ten states. Volunteers will be taken from places like Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Mumbai.
DCGI is not in a hurry to comment on this. The third phase will be allowed only after verifying all the information about the second trial. India Biotech has applied for permission for a third round of trials this month.
